2020 Gibson 1934 Jumbo – £3299

NEW ARRIVAL  This is the guitar that started the legacy of Gibson Jumbo Acoustics; the precursor to the famed ‘J’ series. In 1934 Gibson introduced the largest size acoustic guitar they had ever produced – think of a deep bodied J45 and that gives you an idea of the body size. Only produced for two years, Gibson recognised what an important turning point this was in Gibson’s production history, so it’s been revived by their Custom Shop. With a thermally aged Adirondack Red Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, and a historic deep ‘V’ neck profile, this guitar is as resonant, rich and articulate as it is powerful – and with the deeper body comes a greater bass response. As you’d expect from a Custom Shop Gibson, there are some classy finishing touches; an Abalone Script headstock logo, open back Waverley tuners, a bound fingerboard, fire stripe pickguard, rectangular bridge, and a small centred sunburst finish. The guitar is in good condition with great playability. It has a couple of light nicks and dings, an LR Baggs Anthem pickup, and comes in it’s original vintage style deluxe hard case.
