NEW ARRIVAL The LG2 was made from 1942 – 1962, and is possibly the most desirable small bodied post war Gibson model available. It’s a 00 size guitar with X bracing, making the guitar extremely resonant – a surprisingly big sound for a small bodied guitar. It’s getting difficult to find early 50’s examples. The most obvious difference with 50’s LG2’s is the neck – it’s fuller feeling – meaning it carries richer tone and greater sustain. This guitar is in fantastic playing condition, just back from a set up, and has one of the best faded top refinishes I’ve seen, making it stand out against all the other LG2’s out there. Tonally it’s one of those guitars that just makes you want to play and play, reminiscent of so many old blues recordings. The guitar’s in surprisingly good shape for its age, lots of playwear but surprisingly no cracks or repairs. There’s an LR Baggs pickup fitted, and it comes in a Hiscox flight case.
