2025 Atkin 00037 Dlx Heavy Aged – £3999

NEW ARRIVAL  Just when you think Alistair Atkin has covered all the historic pre war models, he introduces a deluxe range, and with this model he’s paying homage to a 1937 Martin 000-42. A 000 size torrified Spruce top over Rosewood back and sides, with a bound Ebony fingerboard including snowflake inlays, and Abalone rosette and top binding. With this Heavy Aged example, it actually looks like the guitar could be from the 1930’s. There’s a yellow tint that’s been added to the 8 layers of super thin nitro lacquer, to give a this gloss finish. It’s then frozen to achieve the vintage look, which includes lacquer checking, plus heavy playwear – it’s amazing to think this guitar is less than a year old. Tonally it’s a very versatile guitar, really well balanced, with a rich tone and long sustain, capable of playing pretty much any style. It’s a great playing experience, and comes in it’s original deluxe hard case.
