2017 D’Angelico Deluxe EXL-1 – £849

NEW ARRIVAL  D’Angelico have been at the top end of archtop builders since 1932, and are one of the most iconic of them all. Still making wonderful guitars, although now under new ownership, they offer a more affordable way of getting a taste of archtop royalty. This Deluxe EXL-1 model is particularly eye catching in a limited edition Powder Blue finish. It features a 17” wide body, with laminate Spruce top and Maple back and sides. The Maple neck has a Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, and the distinctive headstock features a Mother of Pearl Deluxe Shield Logo inlay, an Aluminium Skyscraper truss rod cover, and gold Grover Stairstep tuners. The multiple bound body has a tortoise pickguard with mounted tone and volume controls, and a gold D’Angelico Stairstep tailpiece. The pickup is a USA Seymour Duncan Johnny Smith Floating Mini-Humbucker which has a real warmth to the tone, allowing both smooth jazz tones and real bite to solos. The guitar is in excellent condition, with great playability it comes in it’s original deluxe hardcase.
