2015 Martin OM-28 Authentic 1931 – £4999

NEW ARRIVAL  The Martin OM-28 was the first 14 fret flattop 6 string acoustic, produced in 1931. With Martin’s Authentic series, they’ve taken the 1931 blueprint, and been as faithful to the build process as possible. This is Martin’s top of the line OM and it sounds like it. Thanks to the VTS Adirondack Spruce top that is sanded to vintage thickness, Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, all put together using hide glue construction. Tonally it’s the balance through the strings that you really notice, the projection is effortless, yet as you play harder the balance remains equal. It’s hard to explain but its voice, feel, weight, dynamics and playability really do hark back to those history making guitars, but with modern build reliability. It’s almost certainly beyond anything Martin has produced in the post war years. The guitar is in excellent condition, has a K and K pickup fitted, and comes in its original deluxe hard case.

NEW ARRIVAL  This is a rare find, there were fewer 0-15’s made than the better known 00-15’s and 00-17’s, and such an early example is very special. The all Mahogany body gives warmth and depth to the woody tone, and the slightly smaller body than a 00 gives this...

2014 Martin Custom Shop 0-28 Cocobolo

SOLD  Martin Custom Shop have produced a very unusual guitar here. As an 0-28 it’s clearly based on a pre 1936 model as it doesn’t have the logo on the headstock, just the Martin stamp on the back. Also the rectangular pyramid bridge and no pickguard would back this...
