2005 Gitane D300 John Jorgenson – £899
NEW ARRIVAL Gitane are already a respected maker of gypsy jazz guitars. So when they collaborated with world renowned guitarist, John Jorgenson, they raised their game. The neck and fingerboard are shaped to John’s specific dimensions. He chose Dalmatian tortoise-style binding, sound hole rosette, and tailpiece insert. The Ebony fingerboard also has striking oval pearl inlays. Sonically, the guitar delivers a bell-like tone, with a bright yet smooth top end response. The petite bouche oval soundhole offers crisp sound with a cutting clarity ideal for lead work, with a traditional Gypsy sound and feel. Altogether it’s a very well made, striking looking addition to the Gitane range. The guitar’s in excellent condition, and comes in a foam hard case.
