1998 Lowden F23c – £1999

NEW ARRIVAL  This has to be one of the most heavily played acoustics I’ve seen for a while, but it sounds all the better for it – really open and mature. It’s a great example of the medium size Lowden, with the combination of Cedar top and Walnut back and sides. The Cedar top adds warmth to the overall tone, and the Walnut delivers clarity and definition. The medium body size gives a great balance to the overall tone. It has a rich, full sound, with great resonance and sustain, and the neck has a great feel and very easy playing action. As with all Lowdens it handles alternate tuning particularly well, and is equally happy being fingerpicked or strummed. At 26 years old it has really been played – there’s heavy pickwear around the soundhole, and multiple dings and scrapes. As if that’s not enough, it has filled volume and tone controls on the top shoulder. BUT, when you play the guitar you realise why it’s so well used – it sounds amazing….. The guitar has an active under saddle pickup fitted and comes in it’s original Hiscox embossed flight case.
