1965 Levin LN26 Goliath – £1099
NEW ARRIVAL The Levin Goliath was hugely popular in the UK and Europe during the 60’s as this model was played by Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton, among many others. It features a Spruce top with Maple back and sides, with a vivid tobacco sunburst, distinctive fingerboard markers and a very cool truss rod cover. Tonally it has real bite in the mid-range, sparkling trebles, as well as great bass response, making it a very versatile guitar – just as comfortable with delicate fingerstyle right through to heavy strumming. These guitars were renowned for being equal, and in some cases better, in sound and build to the best CF Martin guitars of the day – so much so, that in 1973 CF Martin brought Levin and gradually stopped production to eliminate the competition. The guitar is in very good condition, with plenty of great looking lacquer checking, and upgraded open back tuners. It’s a treat to play, with a very comfortable neck and action. It comes in it’s very cool original hard case.
