1959 Silvertone 602 – £399

NEW ARRIVAL  This Silvertone 602 was made in the USA by Harmony, and is branded as an H602, only with a Silvertone headstock decal. The model was only made between 1956 – 1959, produced for the Sears & Roebuck stores as part of the guitar boom of the 50’s. The guitar features a Spruce top, with Birch back and sides, a Poplar neck with Ebonised Maple fingerboard, and a very distinctive pickguard. It has ladder bracing, giving the tone an old time, mid range snap. The guitar is in good condition for it’s age, with one repaired side crack. The action is set for slide playing, but works really well for cowboy chords. It’s a real piece of 50’s American musical history, really authentic sounding, and very cool.
