1930’s Supertone Koa Parlour

SOLD  As parlour guitars are becoming more popular, unusual vintage examples are becoming more desirable. This Supertone instrument, made in Chicago by Harmony, has a beautifully figured all Koa body with classy but understated rope binding and rosette. It features a Mahogany neck, Ebony bridge and enough of the Supertone  label is in tact to make it recognisable. Tonally the guitar has quite a deep sound, very smooth and surprisingly loud for it’s size – great for ragtime and country blues picking. The neck feels comfortable and the action is easy to play. The guitar seems to be in all very good, original condition, with a couple of tightly repaired top cracks. As well as being a lovely guitar in it’s own right, it would work really well in a studio situation or be a fantastic travel guitar. It comes in a non original hard case.
