2008 Gibson Hummingbird True Vintage VOS – £3199

NEW ARRIVAL  Only made between 2007 – 2013 the True Vintage Hummingbirds are incredibly detailed, fully hand built recreations of the 1960 original, featuring a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back & sides, Mahogany neck, bound Madagascan Rosewood fingerboard, and genuine hide glue construction throughout. The fingerboard features the original mother-of-pear split parallelogram inlays, with mother-of-pearl used again on the crown headstock inlay, and Kluson-style gold tuners. Luxury touches on the body include 6-ply top binding, 4-ply rear binding, Madagascan Rosewood bridge, with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, and a hand-painted and engraved Hummingbird scratchplate. Think Keith Richards playing Wild Horses and it takes you there. It’s as good looking as it is great sounding. Pure Americana. It strums beautifully, warm and rich, with a deep bass and a real bite in the trebles, it’s hugely versatile. It’s at home with country picking as it is stadium rock – just a classic. The guitar is in very good condition, with just signs of light playwear. It has an under saddle pickup fitted, and comes in it’s original, historic Gibson hard case.
