2005 Gitane D500 Gypsy Jazz – £599

NEW ARRIVAL Gypsy jazz is in vogue at the moment, with a lot of people either discovering, or re-discovering what a wonderful sound these instruments make. The Gitane D500 is based on the Mario Maccaferri model made famous by Django Reinhardt. It features a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides, and has the very distinctive D shape sound hole, and fingerboard extension. It produces a big, vibrant sound, with great attack and clarity, allowing it to really cut through. The guitar’s matured really well, the Spruce top is tightly grained, and the Rosewood is beautifully figured. It’s in very good condition, with a few signs of playwear and a slight nick out of the body binding. It has a comfortable feeling neck and good playability. The guitar has a K and K pickup fitted, and comes in a non original hard case.
