NEW ARRIVAL The D35 was introduced in 1965 as supplies of Brazilian Rosewood were becoming scarce, and the clever people at Martin realised they could make the tonewood go further if they used a 3 piece back….. and so a legend was born. As well as looking very striking, a 3 piece back has two supporting back braces, this allows the top to be braced more lightly, therefore giving greater resonance and a deeper bass response. The guitar still has all the hallmark tone of a classic Spruce / Rosewood dreadnought, but with more detail, expression and clout. This 2024 example has a tightly grained Spruce top, and really contrasting Rosewood back panels. It plays really well with a comfortable neck and easy action. The guitar’s in very good condition and comes in its original Martin embossed hard case.
