2018 Michaud 00-R Brazilian Rosewood

SOLD  Canadian luthier extraordinaire Joel Michaud has quickly ascended to join the top ranks of guitar builders. His creativity is off-the-charts, and his attention to detail is astounding. This 00-R features a German Spruce top with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. There’s a Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard and bridge, Brazilian Rosewood / Ebony rosette, and Alessi precision tuning machines. He uses notable construction features, like double sides for strength and stability, a Somogyi inspired sculpted bridge, and a variation of Jeff Traugott’s floating back brace which he says adds stability as well as sonic benefits. The sound is immediate, detailed and immersive. This 00 size guitar is “built small with a deceivingly big presence”. As rare as Joel Michaud’s guitars are, pre-owned Michauds are even rarer – the people who have them commissioned just don’t sell them. His entry level model starts at $6500 with a significant waiting list. This is a very rare and beautiful guitar, and comes in a Hiscox flight case
