2015 Patrick James Eggle Skyland – £1999

NEW ARRIVAL  Already well known for his electric guitars, Patrick James Eggle turned his hand to top quality acoustics, and fast became a highly sought after UK acoustic luthier, the quality of his guitars being likened to Lowden, Fylde and Brook. He recently stopped building acoustics in his own name, making his used guitars very collectable. With this Skyland model the unusual combination of European Spruce and Myrtlewood on a dreadnought body gives a warm, rich tone, with quite a complex overall sound – really resonant, with lovely sustain. Visually this guitar has stunning looks – Myrtlewood has a detailed and varied grain pattern – plus the falling leaf fingerboard inlays are very eye catching. The Ebony fingerboard and bridge, and bone nut and saddle really add to the playing experience. At 9 years old the guitar’s in excellent condition – just one small mark on the back – but already has a played in feel, and the playability is very easy. The guitar has an LR Baggs pickup fitted and comes in it’s original Hiscox flight case.
