2006 Martin 000-28EC – £2999

May 13, 2026 | Martin

NEW ARRIVAL   Never underestimate just how important Eric Clapton was to the resurgence of the acoustic guitar in the 90’s with his Unplugged performance. Consequently his signature model Martin 00028 is one of the most desirable Martin models. It’s a classic Spruce / Indian Rosewood 000 with scalloped X bracing. The neck has a soft V profile, with Ebony fingerboard and diamond Abalone inlays. Herringbone body binding frames the honeyed top, the bridge is Ebony and the tortoise pickguard is very eye catching. There are open back butterbean tuners adding a touch of class, and of course the Clapton signature in Abalone on the 20th fret. The guitar sounds as good as it looks with a full bass, strong mids and sparkling trebles – very responsive, with great clarity and articulation. It’s in excellent condition, with a very comfortable neck and great playability. The guitar comes in its original deluxe Martin hard case.

2006 Martin J40 – £2999

NEW ARRIVAL  Introduced in 1985, the J40 was Martin’s first jumbo model. Interesting that they waited so long, and also that they made it a high end 40 series, not an 18 or 28 series. Maybe they weren’t sure of the jumbo market? Either way it’s a belter of a guitar....

1928 Martin 2-17 – £3999

NEW ARRIVAL  It’s rare to find a Martin guitar from the 20’s, let alone one that plays this well. The 2-17 is an all Mahogany guitar, sized somewhere between a parlour and an 0, and was the first acoustic guitar Martin produced for steel strings. It feels as light as...
