2005 Nigel Forster Model B Brazilian

SOLD  Nigel Forster studied under Stefan Sobell from 1988 – 2003, he then went on to produce some of the most beautiful and unusual guitars of his own in 2004. With that pedigree, and an 18 month waiting list for one of his guitars, it’s not surprising that very few hit the second hand market. This example is his Model B, essentially an OM 12 fret to the body with cutaway. The top is carved Bear Claw Spruce and the back and sides are Brazilian Rosewood. There’s an Ebony fingerboard and bridge, herringbone trim and Gotoh 510 tuners. Then there are the identifiable character traits of his guitars – the flat cutaway, gently curved top, a slanted waist bar, longer headstock, and elongated stinger on the back of the headstock – all very classy touches. Tonally it’s magnificent, very open, articulate and complex – really versatile. The guitar has several playwear marks and dings on the top, and some lacquer checking. There’s a B Band pickup fitted – there was a second pickup which has been removed, and now has an end pin plug below the active jack socket. The guitar comes in its custom fitted Calton flight case.
