2005 Gibson Original Jumbo – £2999

NEW ARRIVAL  The Original Jumbo is one of Gibson’s most important acoustic guitars in their illustrious history. As the name suggests, it’s pretty much their first dreadnought model. This slope shoulder guitar is an excellent example of the attention to detail these limited runs can produce, and is an accurate recreation of the iconic original, but at a fraction of the price. The Gibson Original Jumbo reissue features an Adirondack Red Spruce top, Honduras Mahogany back and sides, single ply top and back binding, and scalloped top bracing. The Mahogany neck features a Madagascan Rosewood fretboard and a period correct soft V profile, making it comfortable for all players. Couple all that up with a traditional Rosewood rectangle open slot bridge with a bone saddle, bone nut, hot hide glue construction, and a hand applied nitrocellulose finish and you get big, booming lows that sit perfectly in balance with a crystal clear top end. The traditional headstock is adorned with the classic “Gibson” script style logo in Mother of Pearl inlay and vintage Waverley tuners round out the vibe of this faithful recreation. What makes it super cool for me is the sunburst which has a small amber centre – based on the 1934 original. This is a phenomenal sounding guitar, a wonderful all rounder, and a real head turner. The guitar is in very good condition, and comes in it’s original deluxe Gibson hard case.

1951 Gibson LG1 – £3299

NEW ARRIVAL  A 50’s LG1 is a rare find indeed. A 00 size guitar with Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides, and most importantly ladder bracing. This gives the guitar a quicker attack and quicker fade, and what people consider to be a classic boxy blues sound. Unlike...
