1973 Martin D35S – £3299

NEW ARRIVAL  12 fret dreadnoughts still go under the radar for a lot of players. But once tried, never forgotten. They feel and sound different to most standard 14 fret models. Essentially the longer body means the soundhole is positioned in the ‘sweet spot’, allowing the top to resonate more. As well as this great feature, there’s also an increased bass response – not boomy, but bigger and airier. So with a D35 model, already known for their fuller bass, this guitar really cuts through the mix. This 1973 example has also benefited from 52 years of play, adding an openness and maturity to the sound. The guitar’s in good condition for it’s age with a repaired side crack, and a surface crack on the top edge, lower bout, treble side. The neck feels great with a soft V profile, and the action is comfortable. The guitar has a K and K pickup fitted and comes in its original powder blue hard case.
