1973 Martin D18 – £1999

NEW ARRIVAL  The D18 is the all American guitar. It’s the sound of Americana, the warm, laid back, melodic sound has been heard on countless recordings, and played by just about anyone who’s anyone. Finding a 60’s example is getting more difficult, so early 70’s models and the more affordable way of getting a similar tone and vibe. It’s mellow and warm, and really suits a lazy strumming sound, but dig in and there’s power there too – a true all rounder. It’s the classic Spruce / Mahogany dreadnought, with Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, clean lines and classic good looks. This guitar has really been around the block – and maybe that’s why it sounds so good. It has plenty of scuffs, scrapes and dings, it even has a removed second pickguard. There are crack repairs and a repaired headstock break. But pick it up and play it, and it takes you somewhere very special. The neck is comfortable and the action is just right. There’s also an active under saddle pickup fitted. The guitar comes in a non original but vintage hard case.
