1969 Gibson Hummingbird

ON HOLD  This is one of the best sounding Hummingbirds I’ve had for quite a while, and visually it has to be my favourite model. The cherry sunburst is still vivid, with fantastic looking lacquer checking, and the Mahogany back and sides are beautifully figured. This guitar has all the unmistakable characteristics of a 60’s Gibson dreadnought which makes them sound so familiar, hauntingly reminiscent of so many of the great 60’s recordings. The bound neck makes it feel very easy to play, the action is set just right, and unlike a lot of late 60’s examples the neck is quite full feeling. The guitar is in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs, just a few dings and light scratches and good honest playwear. The guitar comes in it’s original hard case.

2019 Gibson Parlour Rosewood – £1599

NEW ARRIVAL  The word Parlour in Gibson’s branding is a little misleading with this model. It’s actually a J165 body size which is closer to an L-00, only curvier in the lower bout. It’s still a very interesting guitar though, and unusual to have Rosewood back and...

2015 Gibson J45 Mahogany Custom Shop – £2999

NEW ARRIVAL  In 1943, the first full year of the WW2 Banner headstock Gibsons, a lot of their guitars had Mahogany tops because of the scarcity of Spruce. So in 2015 Gibson Custom Shop decided to revive this particular spec and produce a J45 Mahogany in very limited...
