1968 Gibson SJ Southern Jumbo – £3299

NEW ARRIVAL  For me this is one of the most iconic looking Gibson acoustic guitars – a square shouldered dreadnought in a honeyed finish, with a three point pickguard, and eye catching pearl split parallelogram fingerboard inlays. Also it’s unusual to see such a beautifully figured Mahogany back. This guitar has all the unmistakable characteristics of a 60’s Gibson dreadnought which makes them sound so familiar, when you start playing your mind starts racing as it sounds like so many of the great 60’s recordings – mellow, smooth, warm and rich. The bound neck makes it feel very easy to play, with a slimmer 1 9/16” (39mm) neck, and the action is set just right. The guitar is in good, all original condition, with several repaired top cracks, and a long scratch on the back which goes through the lacquer, but not through the wood. The guitar comes in a vintage hard case.

1967 Gibson J50 – £3499

NEW ARRIVAL  This is one of the cleanest 60’s J50’s I seen for a while, with the honeyed top contrasting beautifully with the vivid red pickguard. Tonally it has a very familiar sound, similar to lots of 60’s and 70’s singer songwriter recordings, warm, rich and lush....

2003 Gibson J185 – £2299

NEW ARRIVAL  The J185 often goes under the radar, with the more famous J200 taking all the plaudits for being Gibson’s best known Spruce / Maple jumbo. Well the J185 is essentially a mini jumbo, with Spruce top and highly flamed Maple back and sides. It has its own...

1967 Epiphone Caballero – £1499

NEW ARRIVAL  Epiphones were famously made in the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo between 1960 - 1969 after Gibson bought them in 1957. Their model range mirrored Gibson’s, but had more exotic names - the Caballero is the equivalent of a Gibson LG0. It’s a 00 size, all...
