1967 Gibson J50 – £3499

May 15, 2026 | Gibson

NEW ARRIVAL  This is one of the cleanest 60’s J50’s I seen for a while, with the honeyed top contrasting beautifully with the vivid red pickguard. Tonally it has a very familiar sound, similar to lots of 60’s and 70’s singer songwriter recordings, warm, rich and lush. Strummed it has a full, smooth tone, and fingerpicked it has the clarity to cut through. It feels like it’s been played every day of it’s 59 years, the tone has mellowed so much, and just oozes character. Yet it’s in excellent condition, just the lacquer checking giving away its true age. The original adjustable saddle has been replaced with bone, giving more clarity to the overall sound. As with late 60’s Gibsons, the neck in slim, with low action, feeling more like an electric. The guitar comes in a non original hard case.
