1964 Gibson B25
SOLD The Gibson B25 is the lesser known cousin of the LG2, replacing the better known model in 1962. LG2’s have become one of the most desirable post war small body Gibsons, and as such their prices have rocketed. So a B25 represents a more affordable way of getting a vintage 00 size Gibson, with a cherry burst rather than tobacco, with very desirable X bracing. This example is in excellent, all original condition, the cherry burst is beautifully faded, the pickguard is a stunner, and there’s lots of cool looking lacquer checking. Also, as a 1964 model, it doesn’t have the skinny neck of later 60’s Gibsons. Tonally it’s fantastic, with surprisingly full bass response for a small bodied guitar, thanks to the X bracing, which also makes the guitar more resonant than the more common ladder braced examples. Basically this means the guitar is more dynamic when strummed, very well balanced when playing fingerstyle, but still packs a punch when soloing. It comes in a non original hard case.
