1956 Gibson LG3

SOLD  The LG3 is the natural topped version of an LG2, like the J50 is to the J45. It was made from 1942 – 1962, and is possibly the most desirable small bodied post war Gibson model available. It’s a 00 size guitar with X bracing, making the guitar extremely resonant – a surprisingly big sound for a small bodied guitar. It’s getting difficult to find 50’s examples. The most obvious difference with 50’s LG3’s is the neck – it’s fuller feeling – meaning it carries richer tone and greater sustain. The guitar is in great playing condition, and the honey coloured top contrasts beautifully with the stunning pickguard. Tonally it’s one of those guitars that just makes you want to play and play, reminiscent of so many old blues and folk recordings. The guitar’s in heavily played condition, and sounds all the better for it, and despite all the playwear there are no cracks or repairs. To add to the cool factor, the guitar comes in it’s original croc case.
