2017 Martin D21 Special – £2599
NEW ARRIVAL The Martin D21 was only produced between 1955 – 1969, and has since become a lesser known model. Essentially a D28 with D18 appointments, but very importantly it has forward shifted scalopped bracing. So every time Martin produce a limited run of D21’s they get snapped up by anyone who wants the extra bass and drive that forward shifted bracing gives. So in 2017 Martin produced a special run of only 300 D21’s. Very similar to the original 50’s model the guitar features a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides, old style headstock decal, open back tuners and a 1 3/4” nut. It has a dynamic drive, and a large frequency response. It would work well in any setting where a powerful acoustic voice is desired. It has excellent definition when flatpicking single notes, and it responds well to a softer attack, making it great for fingerstyle players as well. All in all it’s great all rounder, and at 6 years old, in very good condition. The guitar comes in it’s original Martin hard case.
