2013 Alan Carruth 000-12 – £2499

SOLD  Alan Carruth’s guitars have become something of legend, as he builds so few guitars, all one offs, and to an exceptionally high standard. This is the first example I’ve owned and it really lives up to my expectations. The most obvious feature is the beautifully designed ‘Recurve Bevel Cutaway’ which allows upper fret access without losing the treble response most cutaway guitars suffer with. The guitar has an Adirondack Spruce top with Curly Mahogany back and sides and Macassar Ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge. The binding and rosette are Koa, Mahogany and Maple, and the tuners are Waverley. The guitar is a fingerpicker’s dream, with stunning single note clarity, and great resonance and sustain. The neck is very comfortable and the action is easy. It comes in it’s original deluxe hard case.
