2012 Freshman FA400 FBJ Sinker Redwood – £999

NEW ARRIVAL  Sinker Redwood has been the buzzword in acoustic tonewoods for a while now, but still in small supply it’s always a treat to find one. This 2012 custom order by Freshman shows just what this beautiful tonewood can do on a jumbo size body, and paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides, this guitar really moves some air. It’s both dynamic yet smooth at the same time, the Rosewood gives projection and clarity, while the Redwood warms and smooths. It’s been called Cedar on steroids, and I can see why. A really impressive guitar, yes because it’s been produced by a more affordable company, the price isn’t out of everybody’s reach. The guitar is in excellent condition, with a very comfortable feeling neck and action, and comes in a Hiscox flight case.

2005 Lowden 025 – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL  This is a great example of the original size, bigger bodied Lowden, with my favourite combination of Cedar top and Rosewood back and sides. On the Lowden O series guitars I find Spruce / Rosewood very dominant sounding, whereas the Cedar top adds warmth...
