2007 Atkin Slope D – £1899
NEW ARRIVAL In my view, Alistair Atkin is one of the shining lights of modern British luthiery. He keeps his designs classic, the build quality superb, and the playability fantastic. This Slope D features the traditional combination of Spruce and Rosewood, with Ebony fingerboard and bridge, and open back Grover tuners. He’s kept the visuals simple, and the tone is something else – it has incredible presence and bass response, yet retains a good balance with strong midrange and bright powerful trebles. It’s very responsive for fingerstyle playing as well as powerful rhythm bass lines. The guitar’s in excellent condition, with great playability and easy action. It has an active under saddle pickup fitted with volume and tone controls mounted in the soundhole, and comes in a Hiscox flight case.
