1996 Gibson Hummingbird Montana Special – £1999
SOLD The Hummingbird is one of Gibson’s most iconic acoustic guitars, and visually it has to be my favourite model. The beautifully faded Cherry sunburst finish blending into an amber centre, contrasting beautifully with the unmistakable Hummingbird pickguard, and the Mahogany back and sides which are highly figured. The limited edition Montana Special plaque and cushioned pickguard adds to the guitar’s desirability. This guitar has all the unmistakable characteristics of one of Gibson’s flagship dreadnoughts, which makes them sound so familiar. When you start playing it’s reminiscent of so many famous recordings – mellow, smooth, warm and rich. The bound neck makes it feel very easy to play, and the action is comfortable. The guitar is in good condition, with a few dings and light scratches. It comes in it’s original hard case.
