1989 Martin J40R – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL  Also known as a 0000 size, the J40M is essentially a Martin jumbo. It features a Spruce top with Rosewood back and sides, scalloped bracing, and the deluxe appointments of a 40 series Martin including beautiful hexagonal abalone inlays, and Ebony fingerboard and bridge. It produces a rich full sound, with a deep throaty bass, yet well balanced and resonant across the mids and trebles. The guitar is capable of handling heavy strumming with a room filling sound, yet equally happy being fingerpicked and responsive enough when played delicately – it really is a great all rounder. The guitar is in excellent, all original condition, with the addition of a bridge doctor, which was installed to prevent the top from bellying, and has worked very well. It has a transducer pickup fitted, and comes in a deluxe hard case.
