1987 Martin M64 – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL  Only produced between 1985 – 1995, the Martin M64 is a very unusual guitar. The M series is a great all-round body design from Martin, big enough to to challenge a jumbo in volume, but not as deep bodied making it far more comfortable to play. Essentially it’s a 0000 size guitar. What makes it rare is the Maple back and sides, rather than the more commonly found Rosewood. Usually on a Maple acoustic you’d expect sparkling trebles that can often take over from the bass response, but on this well matured example, the bass is low and warm, the mids are full, and the trebles are sweet but not overpowering. Being half way between a 000 size and a dreadnought, it’s a very versatile guitar, working well for fingerstyle, but really packing a punch when strummed. The guitar is in all original condition, with no cracks or repairs, just a few visible dings on the top, and in great playing condition. It comes in it’s original hard case.
