1979 Martin D35 – £2999
NEW ARRIVAL A lot of people consider the Martin D35 to be a deluxe version of a D28, which is arguably the benchmark Spruce / Rosewood dreadnought. The 3 piece Rosewood back is what makes the difference, and ultimately adds a fuller bass response. Tonally it has a very complex sound, great depth and resonance, plenty of punch and attack, and well balanced with superbly articulated clarity. Dreadnoughts are considered to be the most versatile acoustic guitars, and this example sounds great strummed or fingerpicked, and great definition and sustain when soloing. Quite simply it’s a classic, and being from 1979 makes it an affordable way of buying a vintage D35 – 60’s examples have Brazilian Rosewood and are far more expensive. From a playability point of view, this guitar is a treat, the neck has a great feel to it, and the action is just right. The guitar is in excellent condition, with no cracks or repairs, just a few signs of good honest playwear. It has upgraded Grover open back tuners – the original 70’s Grovers come with the guitar in it’s original hard case.
