1979 Larrivee L-11 – £1249
NEW ARRIVAL This is a fine example of an excellent Canadian hand made guitar and, even though Jean Larrivee later relocated to California, it’s the Canadian built guitars that are still desirable. The Canadian sourced woods on his guitars don’t sound like North American guitars, they have a much more earthy feel to them. This is a very early example from 1979, and with 41 years of play the tone has matured beautifully. It features a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, Honduran mahogany neck, and Ebony fingerboard and bridge. This guitar has a big sound, very resonant with excellent sustain – it has great definition and clarity for fingerpicking, and works well for strumming. The guitar is in good condition, with the right amount of playwear to tell you that the guitar has been played and loved in equal amounts. The neck feels great and the action is just right. It comes in a non original hard case.
