1979 Fylde Olivia – £1799

NEW ARRIVAL  Fylde are a well established name in UK guitar production, and have been making hand built and expertly detailed guitars for over 50 years. Particularly popular in the folk scene, they have a peculiarly British sound. The Olivia is a curvy bodied OM size guitar, featuring Cedar top and Mahogany back and sides. It produces a warm balanced tone. The bass is full, the mids are articulate, and the trebles are smooth. It’s a very versatile guitar – you pick it up and immediately start to play fingerstyle, but when strumming, the bass notes really come through adding a real drive to the sound spectrum. As a 46 year old guitar, it’s in well played condition, with a couple of noticeable scrapes on the top, which don’t go through the lacquer. The neck feels very comfortable and the playability is great. There’s an active under saddle pickup fitted, and the guitar comes in a non original hard case.
