1963 Hofner President E2 Thin Brunette – £899
NEW ARRIVAL Hofner guitars have become very collectable, and represent a great way of buying a cool vintage archtop without paying a high price. The President is the middle of the range model above the Congress and Senator – a sign of this is the multiple body binding, bound fingerboard, and headstock and f-hole binding. This example features a Lyre tailpiece and very desirable ‘Diamond Logo’ 510 pickups with four rotary controls. As well as being a great looking guitar, it’s really versatile. It has a great tone, perfect for jazz, blues and swing, right through to rockabilly and rock ’n’ roll. The guitar’s in very good condition, all original apart from upgraded ‘double cuff’ tuners, with some great looking lacquer checking, just a few scuffs, and no cracks or repairs.
