1953 Gibson J45 – £3499

SOLD  The J45 is known as the workhorse guitar, and this example really is a workhorse, with all the bumps and bruises to prove it – and the kind of mature tone that only comes with years and years of play. This example plays just as well and sounds just as good as it’s more expensive, cleaner equivalents – only because it’s clearly been played hard, and has several repaired top and back cracks, it’s far more affordable. A diamond in the rough would be a good way to describe it. It has a depth and warmth to the tone that make it truly inspirational to play, you can hit it hard and it will respond, yet it will handle the most delicate finger picking, it really is a superb all rounder. The guitar comes in a non original hard case.
