1950’s Gallotone Wonder – £199

NEW ARRIVAL  This is a rare example of a South African made Gallotone Wonder acoustic guitar from the late 1950s early 1960s. This is the model famously played by Jimmy Page early in his career, and John Lennon learned to play guitar on a Gallotone Champion. So this little known maker really has it’s place in British music history. This example is in good, but well played condition, and has a real vintage charm about it. Unusually for an archtop it’s parlour size, so the tone is full of mids and trebles with gentle bass response. The voice is big enough to handle strumming well, and is in it’s element with blues fingerpicking. The guitar’s in good condition for it’s age, with a full feeling neck and lots of character.
