1925 Gibson L-1 – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL  This guitar is a real beauty, and in amazing condition for a nearly 100 year old guitar. It’s a rare example of an arch top guitar with a central sound hole. Tonally it’s voiced for blues and jazz – this is the predecessor to the flat top L1 that Robert Johnson famously played – and if you want to recreate that Robert Johnson growl then this guitar gets you close. The feel of the guitar is just great – it really is like holding a piece of history, yet it plays really well, and is still structurally very strong so you don’t feel like you have to handle it with kid gloves. Whether you’re a collector or a player, this guitar is a true example of an overused expression – it has real Mojo. The guitar comes in a non original hard case.
