1924 Gibson L-2 – £2199

NEW ARRIVAL  Built nearly 100 years ago, this L-2 has aged really well and remains a beautiful and really playable guitar. A small archtop with round soundhole, carved Birch and Spruce body and a short scale neck, this Gibson L-2 has a punchy sound, with a warm dryness though the midrange, and a compact and articulate low end. It’s a fun guitar to play 1920’s era raggy-jazzy tunes on, and loves the blues – it cuts through any mix. Initially built between 1902 – 1907, the L-2 was then discontinued. It was brought back with these specifications only between 1924 – 1926, making this a very rare guitar indeed. It’s like playing a piece of history, yet it feels strong enough to gig, has a very comfortable feeling V profile neck, and easy playing action. To add to it’s desirability, it even comes in it’s original hard case.
